Primrose Oil,
I recently related this story to your salesman, Dale Spurleen of DeLeon, TX and he asked me to write it down and send it to you.
I race a quarter-mile dragster and in the fall of 1997, the stator tube in the transmission split and broke off. When the mechanic tore the transmission apart to repair it, the clutches and steels were still in good shape. The Primrose part of the story is that the transmission was filled with 252 30w universal torque fluid and had over 350 passes on the fluid with no changes and with only one pint added because the transmission got hot and vented out the vent plug. The mechanic was amazed and wanted to know where I got that "green" transmission fluid. I also use Primrose 480-M oil additive in the engine oil and in the rear end.
Here are some facts about my car:
1993 Joe Smith dragster
225 inch wheelbase
1996 600 cubic inch Ford Motor (built by G&G Machine another satisfied Primrose customer)
950 horse power at 6800 rpm
800 ft lbs. Torque at 5700 rpm
Chevrolet powerglide transmission (built by Sullivan Motorsports)
Uses a 9 inch Ford rear-end
0 to 60 feet in 1.08 seconds
1/8 mile in 4.7 seconds at 142 mph
car has never been run wide open
fastest on throttle stop 7.71 seconds at 174 mph
Sincerely,
