Trucks and Busses
All large trucks are required to keep fuel mileage records. Over the road large trucks will see an average of 5% increased fuel mileage. Stop and go service, such as trash packer trucks or school busses, will see an increase that averages 8%. Trucks should be treated from front to rear. That means the engine, transmission, differe-ntials and power steering system should all be treated with NT Oil Additive. In the case of wet line equipped trucks, treat the hydraulic system too. What is NT Additive?
NT Oil Additive is a unique lubricity agent, featuring a negatively charged synthetic ester that tenaciously attaches itself to all metal parts that it comes in contact with inside a machine. The metal in a machine is nearly always positively charged while NT Oil Additive is negatively charged. Attachment of a thin layer of NT Oil Additive to all metals is natural and not dependent upon tem-perature, pressure or anything else; except that there must be oil circulation to establish a layer of NT Oil Additive on the metal.
NT Oil Additive has absolutely no effect on the metal itself. It is not an extreme pressure agent, so it will not corrode the surface of metal as do chlorinated or sulfurized oil additives. It is not a polymer additive so it will not artificially thicken oil. NT Oil Additive is pure ester, which has much greater lubricity than oil. It is so effective in reducing friction because it creates a carpet of ester on all of the metal surfaces, preventing metal to metal contact. It can be said that esters slide upon themselves much more freely than what oil does.
When a sufficient amount of esters are added to oil, the result is that the oil becomes as slippery as esters themselves. The unique film provided by the negative polarity of the NT Oil Additive attached to positively charged metals is the secret to all of NT Oil Additives benefits over older ester technology.
Reduced Friction
The standard laboratory test for lubricity is performed in the 4-ball machine. These tests demonstrate a substantial reduction in friction when a synthetic oil is treated with NT Oil Additive as opposed to the same untreated oil. Energy savings demonstrated in operating real life machines are proof that this laboratory test result is authentic.
The untreated synthetic oil had a coefficient of friction of 0.32. At a treatment level of 5% NT Oil Additive, the coefficient of friction was about 0.10. As a synthetic oil may naturally have slightly more lubricity than petroleum, similar or even better results will be obtained in petroleum. The graph below illustrates the lubricity improvement of NT Oil Additive at various treat levels.
Oil is not as slippery as people suppose it to be. The branched chain molecules of oil must tear apart as oil is squeezed between moving parts. NT Oil Additive is a straight chain molecule that glides easily, with much less friction than oil. The oil acts as a carrier of the low friction NT Oil Additive and additives that are needed for extreme pressure and anti-wear as well as the detergents.
Effect of Lubricity Agent Content on Coefficient of Friction
Esters as a lubricity agent are not a new concept. A few years ago gasoline motor oils were introduced that provided extra fuel economy. For a couple of years, both the fuel economy and the standard versions were sold side by side in stores. The difference? A small amount of ester additive (usually about 2/~ of 1 %) was put into the fuel economy version, and this provided a couple of tenths of a mpg increase. Esters are still used in motor oils for this purpose. You cant buy a gasoline motor oil that does not contain a bit of ester now.
NT Oil Additive is improved over older ester additives in two important ways. The first improvement is the extremely effective negative charge that causes the formation of a carpet of ester on metal. Older esters tended to merely float in the oil. The second improvement it that NT Oil Additive will carry a much heavier load between metal parts than older esters. It attaches itself to the metals in a thin, continuous film. This film is much more effective as a lubricity agent than the older ester technology.
You can expect substantial energy savings in engines, manual and automatic transmissions, differentials, industrial gearboxes, recip-rocating air compressors, hydraulic systems, vacuum pumps and in nearly any other place oil is used. The only exception is that NT Oil Additive cannot be used in air conditioning units. It will react with freon.
It should be noted that we expressly do not recommend NT Oil Additive in any aircraft. All aircraft lubricants must be approved by the FAA. Due to insurance requirements, we do not plan to pursue aircraft registration.
In some cases, gearboxes, hydrostatic pumps and other machines will operate more quietly with NT Oil Additive as friction is a source of vibration and noise.
Reduced friction means that most oil lubricated systems will run a few degrees cooler with NT Oil Additive.
Of course, a lower coefficient of friction means electricity savings in a plant. In one case a 500 HP FaIk herringbone gearbox required 8% less amps to operate after NT Oil Additive was put into the oil. Even larger savings can often be found in worm gears.

As the negative charge of NT Oil Additive causes it to form a tenacious film on metal, it follows that everything else on the metal must become detached. This means that corrosion, sludge, varnish and moisture will no longer be in contact with the metal because NT Oil Additive will replace it.
There are certain applications where this can easily be observed. An example is in oil lubricated truck wheel bearings. When treated with NT Oil Additive, all moisture that is present in the wheel bearing will separate from the oil and cling to the rubber plug and plastic cover. Merely wipe it out a time or two and all moisture is gone. Even if the oil has enough moisture to make it milky looking, within a couple of hundred miles the oil will be clear and the moisture will be in the cover, ready for you to wipe it out with a cloth. The oil in the hub will become bright and clear.
Corrosion that has formed on parts will be removed by NT Oil Additive. If you have an antifreeze contaminated engine, NT Oil Oil Additive cannot be used in air conditioning units. It will react with freon.

If the contamination source can be fixed without disassembling the engine, fix the problem and then add NT Oil Additive to the oil and let it idle for an hour. Change the oil and add NT Oil Additive again and there will be no further damage. Without NT Oil Additive, the corrosion started by the antifreeze in oil will continue. With NT Oil Additive, corrosion will cease and the additive will even clean up the sludge that has formed inside the engine.
Hydraulic systems in cranes and other outdoor applications may become contaminated with moisture. A treatment of NT Oil Additive will prevent normal amounts of moisture from doing any harm. In the case of a system ingesting large amounts of moisture, drain everything and add new oil with NT Oil Additive. The small amount of moisture remaining in cylinders and lines will not harm the pumps and valves as it will never come in contact with metal again.
Even the natural breathing of air in and out of an indoor hydraulic reservoir will eventually draw in enough moisture to be harmful to the system. NT Oil Additive absolutely displaces this moisture from any metal parts, eliminating damage.
Gearboxes should be treated with NT Oil Additive to prevent moisture from causing corrosion. Agricultural and industrial vacuum pump oils should be treated with NT Oil Additive for the same reason.
Very small amounts of varnish on solenoid valves can cause erratic operation of CNC operated machines in metal working shops. NT Oil Additive will remove this varnish, making them as clean as new. In addition, the lubricity of the NT Oil Additive will allow more precise operation of hydraulic cylinders, improving accuracy and tolerances of parts produced.
Most automatic transmissions that are taken to the shop for repairs are mechanically sound. Shifting problems usually occur when solenoid valves become varnished. NT Oil Additive can be added to automotive and industrial automatic transmissions to eliminate these problems. Even automobiles that will no longer shift ma~ begin shifting like new again within 25 to 100 miles after addin1 NT Oil Additive. It removes the varnishes from valves an lubricates them.

Reducing friction usually reduces wear rates. As there are so man~ places that NT Oil Additive can be used, we have no specific char or reference as to how much wear reduction your machines wil experience. Used oil analysis will easily prove the benefits.
Dramatic wear reduction will usually be observed in worm gears Gearboxes that require EP additives will also experience som wear reduction. Hydraulic systems can run much longer betweer repairs with NT Oil Additive than they will run without it. Th important thing is that used oil analysis will show reduced metaI~ wear rates in virtually every application when NT Oil Additive used.
It should be noted that NT Oil Additive does not replace the need to use engine oils in engines, gear lubes in gears, etc. NT Oil Additive increases the lubricity of the oil and thereby reduces wear rates.
Do not use NT Oil Additive in a new or rebuilt gasoline or diesel engine until it is broken in. NT Oil Additive will reduce wear too much, preventing break in.
Seals and 0-Rings
Both petroleum and synthetic oils tend to pull certain molecules out of oil seals. They shrink and eventually begin to leak. To make up for this, tiny amounts of aromatic seal swell agents are put into many lubricating oils.
Adding too much seal swell agent is very harmful as it will cause the seal to swell against the shaft or hydraulic cylinder rod. This condition will lead to increased seal wear and the seal will soon leak again. In some cases, the shaft will wear as the seal presses into it.
NT Oil Additive is unique in that it provides the missing link. Lubricity. When used in the correct amount, NT Oil Additive will replenish the molecules that oil has pulled out of seals. It may swell the seal from 1 .5% to 3.0%. However, it not only swells the seal, it also lubricates it many times better than what oil alone can, which in turn prevents the seal from wearing as it would without the additive. As you can see from the coefficient of friction graph you will reach maximum friction reduction with a treat level ( about 5% NT Oil Additive. However, if you are interested in seal and 0-ring protection, use NT Oil Additive at 7.5%. Do not exceed this dosage.
You should treat any oil lubricated system except air conditioning systems and aircraft.
Even though NT Oil Additive is an industrial product, youll find that small two cycle engines love it. Just add NT Oil Additive to your oil before mixing with the fuel.
